Last year, my husband and I took our babymoon trip to the breathtaking town of Seward, Alaska. It made me wonder why I hadn't visited sooner. Nestled along the shores of the Kenai Peninsula, Seward is a picturesque port town that offers natural beauty and outdoor adventure. Although our stay was relatively brief—just two nights and three days—we were determined to fit in as much as we could. One of the highlights of our trip was hiking to Exit Glacier. We also took a boat tour that allowed us to observe various marine wildlife. Not only did we get to have an amazing adventure, but we also went to one of the most charming coffee shops I have ever been to. It was the perfect start to our day. If you are a person who seeks adventure, Seward will not disappoint.

Lodging

We stayed at the Spruce Lodge during our trip to Seward. Our room had everything we needed, and there was even a little coffee hut right outside our room. The lodge was far enough from the port, which we loved because the port town was very busy. It was nice coming back to the lodge after a long day of travel. There were also restaurants right down the road from the lodge. The view from our window wasn't bad either.

Adventures

Kenai Fjords National Park Glacier & Wildlife Cruise

We started our trip bright and early and headed to the port area of Seward. We booked a cruise on TripAdvisor with Kenai Fjords National Park Glacier & Wildlife Cruise. We had some time while waiting for our cruise and picked up some raincoats from the gift shop. The cruise was packed. If you do this cruise, make sure you get on the boat early and claim a good spot. It is also a six-hour cruise, and some people did get seasick. I had no problems even being six months pregnant, and neither did my husband. If you're used to boats, you'll be fine. My favorite part was seeing the whales, sea lions, otters, and glaciers. It was well worth it, in my opinion, because to me it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

While I did enjoy the cruise, I probably wouldn't do it again just because of the fact that there were so many people. I would've preferred a more laid-back and shorter cruise. I am glad that I got to experience this, but if you don't mind being around a lot of people, you will enjoy it.

Exit Glacier

This was my favorite part of the trip. We originally didn't plan to go here, but it wasn't far from our lodge, so we decided last minute. Being six months pregnant, the trail was perfect for me. There were a few different trails for all different skill levels. We obviously did the easiest one for me, but the views were incredible.

Coffee Shops and Bookstores

Resurrect Art Coffee House- The ambience in the coffee shop made me want to sit in there and read all day.

Seward's Cup - The name speaks for itself. This coffee hut is literally in the shape of a cup. It's the perfect place to stop on the go.

Dreamland Books & Yarn - Exactly what it is. A bookstore that also sells yarn.

I had so much fun in Seward; I wish I had planned for more time there. If you only have a few days, it is well worth the visit. There are so many adventure options for all types of skill levels.
